So, this post starts as a fairy tale…

Once upon a time, when grandparents were very young, they traveled to France on their honeymoon and visited many romantic places. One such place was Our Lady of Chartres Cathedral in Chartres, which is about 1.5 hour from Paris. They sneaked inside a workshop where the antique medieval stained glass was repaired, and they were allowed to take as a keepsake a small box of unrepairable stained-glass pieces… Long story short – the box stayed in their garage for 75 years — until our client brought it to us and asked us to make something beautiful and memorable with it. We thought long and hard – and we decided to give this glass its original function the best we could. We designed a two-sided glass see-through shadow box; we prepped the glass pieces by thoroughly washing them, we experimented with several glues, and Voila! A display for medieval French stained glass is ready to be hanged by the window to catch and reflect the 21st century sunlight!
