This is a story of how good intentions can sometimes lead to horrendous consequences! Juliana wanted to give this old beauty (a rare necklace by Miriam Haskell), a thorough deep cleaning and the results were terrible, to say the least! The silver beads started to peel rapidly, losing their attractive shine and luster. Every bead […]
“My Grandma left me nothing” – complained our client. “All I got was half of a broken buckle – and what do I do with it now?” We laughed together and brainstormed a new project, and believe it or not, we had many ideas for what we should do with this 1/2 of a broken […]
Our client entrusted with us a family story of sacrifice and unconditional love. Four sisters gave their Victorian gold-framed cameos to their younger sister when she and her family bravely ventured across the Atlantic Ocean on a steamboat in early 1920s, to start a new life in the United States. When times were harsh, each […]
A green-bluish gunk that accumulates with ages on brass or copper has a scientific name! This is VERDIGRIS — a bright bluish-green encrustation or patina formed on certain metals by atmospheric oxidation. The word is French by origin, “Vert de Grece” and it means literally “The Green of Greece” – because it was originally noticed on […]
Our Italian client brought us a bunch of antique carved cameos, which she found in her grandma’s sewing box. She wanted to do something with them but didn’t know what and how. She couldn’t afford to frame them into a ring or a brooch by a professional jeweler. We enthusiastically brainstormed the new project and […]
Our client shared a sentimental story about her mother who was an elementary school teacher in a public school and used to wear this inexpensive necklace and earrings to work almost every day. The necklace broke long ago, but our client could not throw it away as she felt a deep emotional attachment to it […]
A Queen piece from an antique chess set became a wearable piece of art and a great keepsake for our client. It is also a Good Luck talisman for her, and she loves to wear it to ward off evil spirits!
What’s more important? When your friend becomes your returning client or when your returning client becomes your friend?
So, this post starts as a fairy tale… Once upon a time, when grandparents were very young, they traveled to France on their honeymoon and visited many romantic places. One such place was Our Lady of Chartres Cathedral in Chartres, which is about 1.5 hour from Paris. They sneaked inside a workshop where the antique […]
Our client said that her Great Grandmother only had junk jewelry, and she has nothing to wear in her memory! This is what we have received, and this is what we have returned! A magic transformation from “junk” to “fabulous”!
Our client brought to us a very old, antique, Native American necklace, which belonged to her Grand-Aunt. She probably acquired it from an Old Pawn shop, somewhere in Arizona, as it included fabulous Navajo “pearls” made of Sterling Silver and very unique carved stone beads, as well as hand-cut Heishi Shell Coral beads. The necklace […]
The only problem was that the belt was no longer golden… Time, tear, and wear made it look rusty brown… and we had to find a way to bring it back to live!
Our dear client came to us with several decorative brass buttons… These buttons were very small and dainty, and we asked where they came from. She said that while cleaning the attic, she went through her grandma’s trunk and there was a tiny navy coat, which grandma probably wore when she was 5 or 6 […]
It’s a pure joy and enormous satisfaction to restore a stunning piece of jewelry! That’s how we received this old beauty and that’s how we let it go back home to its owner!
Our happy customer is wearing her favorite blue glass moonstone necklace again! This multistrand vintage necklace came to us broken in several pieces and we had to fully restrung it and add a new clasp. What a pleasure to see a beautiful smiling lady wearing a gorgeous necklace!
Proudly presenting our newest restoration project to our clients and friends! Here we have a very old, 19th century choker necklace which was neglected and forgotten for way too long! We soaked it in a mild solution of vinegar and salt, after that we gently cleaned it from green verdigris and dirt. And finally, we […]
Presenting to our clients and friends a wonderful restoration project. The challenge was to restore a broken necklace with missing parts to a wearable, gorgeous condition. And here we are! A true beauty is back! A very long sautoir necklace with graduating oval glass Art Nouveau beads, adorned with crystal roundels! Sharing before and after […]
Hello Friends and Clients! We would like to share our latest restoration project of a wonderful antique blackamoor brooch. It’s depicting an exotic dancer in bejeweled boots and matching miniskirt. Check it out as we hope you would appreciate our restoration efforts!
This 1930’s brooch originally had a lot of paint chipped of. All cracks and losses were repainted. Afterwards, everything was sealed with a gloss to prevent further damage.
These earrings are made of a metal alloy that was coated by a gold enamel. They were made in the 1950’s and due to the long period of usage the gold was worn down in many places. I repainted both earrings and varnished them completely.
