Our client entrusted with us a family story of sacrifice and unconditional love. Four sisters gave their Victorian gold-framed cameos to their younger sister when she and her family bravely ventured across the Atlantic Ocean on a steamboat in early 1920s, to start a new life in the United States. When times were harsh, each cameo was stripped of its gold frame but carefully kept wrapped in soft tissue paper. All five cameos came to us “naked” – without their gold frames. Juliana started a new project keeping in mind the Italian family ancestors and decided that making coral and silver settings would make a stunning necklace!
